Releasing a video from Washington DC, America, Wajed Joy said that I have a special message for the Indian government.
India should play a leadership role in the world
In this video message, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, ‘My personal gratitude is for the prompt action of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to save my mother’s (Sheikh Hasina) life. I will always be grateful to them. My second message is that India should play a leadership role in the world and should not let other foreign powers control the situation.’
Sheikh Hasina government maintained peace in Bangladesh
Along with this, Joy said, ‘Because it (Bangladesh) is India’s neighbor. It is the eastern part of India. It is a proven track record which no one can deny that Sheikh Hasina’s government has maintained peace in Bangladesh. Maintained economic development and also stopped the growing extremism in the country.’
Other governments have completely failed
Sajeeb Wazed Joy said that Sheikh Hasina’s government has kept the eastern part of our subcontinent stable. It was the only government that proved that we can do it. Other governments tried and they have completely failed.
What did BNP say on Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India?
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a staunch rival of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League party, on Friday said the former prime minister’s decision to stay in India was entirely hers and that of the Indian authorities. He warned that the people of Bangladesh will not look at it in a good light. Along with this, BNP spokesperson Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the people of Bangladesh feel that the Indian authorities should take their sentiments into consideration.
