Vinesh Phogat returned to the country today after participating in the Paris Olympics.

Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified for being 100 grams overweight just before the gold medal match of women’s 50 kg wrestling at Paris Olympics 2024, returned to the country this morning. After coming out of Delhi airport, Vinesh was warmly welcomed by the fans present there. When Vinesh was disqualified just before the gold medal match, the Indian Olympic Association had strongly objected to it. Regarding this matter, Vinesh had also appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports to give her a shared silver medal, but her petition was rejected by CAS on the evening of 14 August.

When Vinesh Phogat returned to the country after participating in the Paris Olympics, she became emotional after seeing her welcome and said that I want to thank all the countrymen and consider myself very lucky. Vinesh has been welcomed like a champion on her return to the country. Apart from this, preparations are also going on to welcome Vinesh at home. She may not have won the Olympic medal, but we will work harder so that we can win the Olympic gold medal. When Vinesh came out of the airport, she could not stop her tears after seeing the fans welcoming her like this.
