Beijing Olympics bronze medalist also praised Neeraj Chopra, who won gold medal in Olympics
New Delhi, (IANS)| Beijing Olympic bronze medalist boxer Vijender Singh on Wednesday lauded the Tokyo Paralympic medalists, saying he salutes the Paralympians for their performance despite all odds.
Like the Tokyo Olympics, Paralympics have also been an unforgettable moment from India’s point of view. India has given its best ever performance in Paralympics. India has so far won 10 medals in the Tokyo Paralympics. Vijender told IANS, “I came to know about their stories. Some people suffered a lot but still these Paralympians stood strong and made India proud. They are real heroes like Army jawans and others. One must learn from them that nothing is impossible.”
He said, “I would like to congratulate and salute all the para athletes for their achievements. I wish them all the best for their future. I saw how Sumit Antil and Devendra Jhajharia threw the javelin. Even Sumit took three. Bar world record.” Vijender also congratulated Neeraj, the javelin thrower who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. “Neeraj did a great job there and I am proud of him,” he said.
