Sahibganj. Villagers protested on Saturday demanding a four-lane underpass near Faujdari of Pirpainti block on the Bihar-Jharkhand border. A large number of villagers gathered in the demonstration. There were a large number of women in it.
Let us tell you that to connect Bihar with Jharkhand, four lane is to be constructed from Munger to Mirzachowki. The construction work of this road is being done by NHAI. Villagers say that due to the four-lane work here, the old road is being closed for traffic. This will cause a lot of problems to us villagers.
Villagers say that this road connecting Faujdari village to many villages including Hajipur Diara, Babupur, Bakharpur is a rural road. Hundreds of people travel on this route every day. For basic facilities people have to go towards Bihar and this is the only road. If this road is closed then we will have to face a lot of difficulties in commuting.
Communist Party of India District Minister Devkumar Yadav, who was involved in the protest, has said that the road is being constructed under four lane. This fourlane connects Bihar with Jharkhand. But. The road to Bihar is being closed. Our demand is that there should be an under pass on this. Having underground pass will be convenient for us and we will be able to go to Bihar easily.
Rural women say that we use this road even for small things. This is not just a road, it is a lifeline for us. We demand that an underpass should be provided here.
The second woman has said that until an underpass is given here, we will continue the protest. The villagers have also warned of a bigger protest in the future.
