Dhar (New Zealand Representative). On the one hand, while the government is trying to connect the village by road and the farm with the road, on the other hand, the condition of the road from Chhota Umaria to Thawli, Pipalkhunt, village panchayat Ambapura of Tirla development block, 20 km from Dhar, is pathetic. There are two feet deep potholes at many places on the route. For years, the villagers move through the unpaved road. Villagers of 10 villages travel through this road. Due to the unpaved road, people get injured every day. On Tuesday, more than 50 villagers reached the collectorate, where they have appealed for construction of roads in the village under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana in the public hearing.
It is worth mentioning that the villagers are yearning for a road from village Chhota Umaria to Thawli, Peepalkhunt of the district block. Villagers say that many times we have got everyone’s attention on the road. But there is no one to listen to us. At the same time, the villagers told that sometimes due to the bumpy road, the women of the village face a lot of trouble in traveling when they are taken to the hospital for delivery. At the same time, it becomes difficult to even walk properly in the car during the rainy season. Thawli and Pipalkhunt have a population of 800 to 1000. On Tuesday, the villagers have submitted an application in the public hearing regarding the road problem. It was also demanded that the road should be constructed soon.
Ratanlal Meda, a resident of village Thavali, told that he is getting worried for the road for 8 years. Many a times, we apprised the collector about the plight of the road through a memorandum to the PWD officials. But till date the solution has not been found. The biggest problem we face is in taking the pregnant women of the village to the hospital. When we called on 108, the car could not come ahead of Chhota Umaria. Due to non-availability of ambulances, potholes are everywhere on the unpaved road. Sometimes we have to take the pregnant woman to Umaria on a motorcycle. This puts the life of the pregnant woman at risk. At the same time, due to potholes, motorcyclists fall. So far many villagers have been injured in this.
