Vinesh Phogat
India’s star wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been in the news since the Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh was disqualified just before the gold medal match of the 50 kg category of the Olympic wrestling event for being 100 grams overweight. This was a big setback for Vinesh as well as the whole of India. Due to Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification, India had to be content with one less medal. Vinesh had also challenged this decision taken in the Olympics and demanded at least a silver medal for herself.
However, CAS rejected her petition. Due to which she could not get the medal even after a long struggle. Vinesh had also announced her retirement during this time, but now she has posted such a post on her social media. Seeing which it seems that she can change her decision and return to wrestling once again. She has released a three-page statement on her social media on Friday.
what did vinesh post
Vinesh Phogat has said a lot while posting on her social media. During this, she also wrote that there is a lot to say and a lot to tell, but words will never be enough and maybe I will speak again when the right time comes. On the night of August 6 and the morning of August 7, all I want to say is that we did not give up, our efforts did not stop and we did not surrender, but the clock stopped and the time was not appropriate. She further wrote that the same thing happened to me. My team, my fellow Indians and my family feel that the goal we were working for and what we planned to achieve has remained incomplete, something will always be lacking and things may never be the same as before.
Vinesh gave indications of comeback
Vinesh also admitted that if the circumstances were different, she could have played till 2032. Disappointed Vinesh said at the end of the letter that she will keep fighting for the right thing. She wrote that perhaps under different circumstances, I can see myself playing till 2032, because the fight and wrestling inside me will always be there. I cannot predict what the future holds for me, and what will happen next in this journey, but I am sure that I will always keep fighting for what I believe in and for what is right.
