During the flag closing program organized on the occasion of Nagpanchami on Tuesday night in East Champaran district of Bihar, the dispute between two sides took violent form. In this dispute, a young man was brutally murdered with a knife. The deceased has been identified as Rajan Kumar (27 years), who was a resident of Baniya Patti locality of Motihari Nagar police station area.
There is an atmosphere of tension in the entire region regarding the incident. The police have taken the body of the deceased and sent it for postmortem and started investigating the case.

According to the information, the traditional flag closing ceremony was going on on the occasion of Nagpanchami on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, there was an argument between the two local groups about something, which turned into a fight. According to eyewitnesses, during this time a young man from one side stabbed Rajan Kumar with a knife. Rajan was immediately rushed to the hospital in an injured state, but the doctors declared him dead.
Identification of accused
There was a stir in the area after the incident. A preliminary investigation conducted by the police has revealed that the name of the murder accused is Raja Singh, who is a resident of Panchmandir Road in Nagar police station area. The accused is absconding since the incident. The police are continuously raiding for his arrest.
Police action
The city police station officer said that adequate security arrangements were made during the flag closing ceremony, but the incident occurred due to sudden and local dispute. He said that the FIR has been registered on the basis of the statement of the relatives of the deceased, and the search for the named accused is going on. He will be arrested soon.

As soon as the news of Rajan Kumar’s murder was received, there was chaos in the family. Parents and siblings are in a bad state. Local people also expressed deep condolences on the incident and demanded the administration to punish the convict soon.
