Janrav VK Singh has announced not to contest the elections. He is currently a BJP MP from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. There was a lot of discussion going on about his ticket being canceled from Ghaziabad seat. It was being said that BJP can give ticket to a new face in place of VK Singh from Ghaziabad seat. VK Singh has confirmed this discussion by saying that he will not contest the elections. There is a lot of discussion about giving ticket to Atul Garg in his place.
General VK Singh is MP from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat for two consecutive terms. During the 2014 tenure, he was the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Modi government. In the second and current term, he is the Minister of State for Roads, Transport and National Highways in the Government of India.
Kanpur MP Satyadev Pachauri will also not contest elections
Apart from General VK Singh, BJP MP from Kanpur Satyadev Pachauri has also sent a letter to the party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda expressing his desire not to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Pachauri said in a letter sent to the party president, ‘Honorable National President, it is a humble request to you that I am not interested in contesting the present Kanpur Lok Sabha-2024 elections. Therefore my name should not be considered. I am a loyal worker of the party and will continue to discharge the responsibilities given by the party.
77-year-old Satyadev Pachauri had won the Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur in 2019. The party had made Pachauri its candidate in 2019 in place of senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, who won the Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur in 2014, and he won. Before that, in 2017, he was elected assembly member from Kanpur Nagar district and was made a cabinet minister in the first government led by Yogi Adityanath.
