New Delhi. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will participate in the protest against the alleged manipulation in the voter list in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka on 8 August. During this time, he will also march on foot from Freedom Park to Karnataka Election Commission office.
According to the information, this program of Rahul Gandhi will start at 11 am, in which he will raise the issue of irregularities in the voter list and raise his voice against it. Rahul Gandhi will march on foot from Freedom Park to Karnataka Election Commission office. Many leaders and workers of the Congress party are also expected to participate in this demonstration.
Earlier, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal had said that we would start a major campaign to protect Indian democracy.
Venugopal posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “The disclosure made by the Leader of the Opposition on Thursday is a very small case, just one assembly constituency data. It shows that the BJP-controlled Election Commission through a systematic and multi-faceted approach added more than 1 lakh fake votes in Mahadevpura assembly constituency of Karnataka.”
He said, “This daylight of votes of Karnataka Chief Election Officer (CEO), which has been done under your supervision. The evidence is now in front of the whole country. We will march to your office on Friday and will keep evidence in front of you and will seek answers.”
Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) wrote a letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday morning, in which he sought an affidavit on the allegations of ineligible voters and removing the names of eligible voters. The Chief Electoral Officer has also given time to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress delegation from 1 to 3 pm on Friday.
The letter said that the Congress delegation sought time on 8 August 2025 to meet the CEO and submit a memorandum, for which the time has been fixed at 1 to 3 pm.
