JNUSU Election News. The examination of candidates of different ideologies has started today in the JNU Students Union elections. Meanwhile, the nomination of Left Panel Joint Secretary candidate Swati Singh has been canceled in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union elections late last night after ABVP’s complaint. In the nomination for JNUSU elections, 45 contenders are in the fray for the post of President, 43 for Vice President, 44 for General Secretary, 38 for Joint Secretary and 258 for the post of Councilor. Voting has started today for JNU Students Union elections.
Talking about the candidates, this time too the saffron party has made tremendous preparations to break into the Left’s fort. Umesh Kumar Yadav of leftist Students Federation of India (SFI), Anagha Pradeep and Swati Singh of Democratic Students Federation (DSF) and Dhananjay of All India Students Association (AISA) are in the fray. Meanwhile, Umesh Chandra Ajmira, Arjun Anand, Govind Dangi, Deepika and Kavya are in the fray from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Congress-affiliated National Students Union (NSUI) candidates Kunal Kumar, Sudhanshu Shekhar and Farhan Zaidi are contesting the elections. Let us tell you that the results of JNU elections will come on March 24.

Voting starts in JNU
JNU Students Union elections are being held almost four years after the Covid-19 pandemic. Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements in the JNU campus. Along with police, guards have also been deployed at various places in the entire JNU campus. Amidst all this, the sound of Dhapli and Dhol will not be heard in the campus today. Today even the tune of Jai Shri Ram or Lal Salaam will not be played.

ABVP candidates contacted the university students through mess campaign, wall painting, hostel campaign, torch march etc. Central panel debate was also organized in front of Jhelum hostel of JNU on Wednesday afternoon. In this central panel debate, the candidates of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad loudly reiterated their resolve to oust the leftist leadership from JNUSU.
The Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 has been implemented in the country just before the JNU elections.
ABVP has made tremendous preparations
Deepika Sharma, the vice president candidate from ABVP, said in her speech, the day ABVP wins the student union elections, the first thing it will do is open the lock of Barak Hostel. When ABVP wins, it will lay the foundation of 10 new schools and 6 new hostels which have already been approved in this campus. ABVP has continuously worked for the interests of students. We have stood for the interests of students earlier also and will continue to stand in future too.

At the same time, all the four organizations AISA, AISF, DSF and SFI have made tremendous preparations to defeat ABVP. Leftist student organizations are contesting the elections together this time too. The results will be declared on 24th March. Voting will be held in two phases from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. This time also students will cast their vote through ballot paper only. Presidential debate was also organized in JNU on 20 March.
