Bareilly . Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi, head of All India Muslim Jamaat, said on Wednesday that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill does not have any threat to Muslims, but will benefit them greatly. He claimed that some political groups are misleading the public by spreading unnecessary fear about the bill.
“I hope the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in Parliament will be passed without any disruption. The opposition will definitely create a ruckus because he wants to do vote bank politics, so he will definitely make up his vote bank to maintain his vote bank.”
Rejecting the possibility of damaging the Muslim community from this bill, he said, “There is no threat to Muslims from the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and others associated with political groups are scaring Muslims, misleading them, spreading rumors and creating misunderstandings.”
He said, “However, I want to assure Muslims that neither their mosques nor Idgah, Dargah or cemetery will be snatched away. This is only and only a rumor.”
Highlighting the benefits of the bill, Razvi said, “The income after the amendment is implemented will be spent on poor, weak, helpless, pious and widow Muslims. This will lead to their progress and development. It will work in the field of education and the income from it will be opened and maintained by schools, colleges, madrasas and mosques and will be maintained.”
The purpose of the bill said in detail, “According to the imagination of our elders, the purpose of Waqf was to put the income from it in public welfare works. But this could not happen due to corruption.”
He said, “Now this new bill will prevent corruption and ensure that money is spent on legitimate objectives. It is for the progress of Muslims, which will benefit from this. For personal benefits, the illegal sale of Waqf Board lands of crores of rupees will be banned and income will be used for correct objectives.”
Expressing the hope of passing the bill, Rajvi said, “We hope that this bill will be passed in both houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha of Parliament and it will prove to be in the interest of Muslims, and will become a milestone for the welfare of the people.”
Rajvi has earlier accused many Muslim groups and political parties of misleading the community about this bill. He has also accused AIMPLB of wandering for his original purpose and being influenced by political agenda.
