New Delhi. The Narendra Modi government at the centre introduced the Waqf Board Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha today. After which the Congress, Samajwadi Party and Indy alliance MPs created a ruckus in the house opposing it. Now BJP has retaliated on the statement given by the opposition MPs in the parliament opposing the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said, one thing is certain that Waqf is an excuse, the aim is to provoke the Muslim vote bank.

The BJP spokesperson said that just like the leaders of the Indi alliance had spread the misconception while opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) law that citizenship will be taken away by it, now in the same way lies are being spread about the Waqf Board Amendment Bill that lands will be taken away by it. The amendment in the Waqf Board is being brought only after the lobbying of many people from the Muslim intellectual society. The Waqf Board Amendment Bill is a supporter of good governance, accountability and transparency. Women will get more representation in it. Now the question is whether the Indi alliance stands with the land grabbers and is against the poor Muslims?
Due to the politics of appeasement, the Waqf Board has been given unlimited powers by the Congress. If the Waqf wants, it can claim any land, even the entire village, then the concerned people have to face trouble in proving ownership of their own land. If the rights like the Waqf Board have been given to any community, be it Hindu, Christian, Parsi or Jain, then how is it in accordance with the Constitution? Today the Waqf has more than 9 lakh acres of land property but the income is less than 200 crores, which means that poor Muslims are not getting any benefit from it. After the amendment bill is passed, poor Muslims will be benefited. The leaders of the Indy alliance are siding with the land mafia and attacking the poor Muslims.
