Summary
Due to the farmers’ movement, it was being speculated that the 2022 elections would be fought around the issue of agriculture. At that time, all the politicians of the state were sympathetic to the farmers agitating against the agricultural laws. During the election campaign, these politicians turned their backs on the problems of the farmers.

Expansion
Political critic and farmer leader Yogendra Yadav told AnyTV that we should differentiate between a peasant movement and a political party. The farmers associated with the peasant movement were together on the issue of agriculture, but they were divided on the political issue. The truth is that voters of different parties, farmers also joined the movement, but as soon as the color of the election came, people supported their respective parties, and that is why the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab and the BJP in UP seem to be getting success. By constantly contacting the farmers leaders, fielding more than a dozen Jat candidates, the BJP was successful in making its place among them. An attempt was made to divide the Jats on the basis of communalism among them by calling them great warriors against the Mughals. As of now, the election results show that the BJP has succeeded in its endeavor.
The opposition did not raise the issue of farmers
Farmer leader Dr. Ashish Mittal said that the opposition parties did not raise any issue of agitation in the entire Uttar Pradesh elections. Jinnah-Pakistan and Hijab were debated throughout the election. If the opposition had taken these issues seriously, it would have benefited, but none of the BSP-SP-Congress parties tried to touch those issues. Only by writing some promises in the manifesto, his duty was assumed to be fulfilled. Peasant leader Dr. Mittal feels that there was nothing to give to the farmers even in the opposition’s box. Had he agreed with the farmers’ issues, he too would have had to face opposition from the corporate houses. Perhaps even he did not have the courage to oppose the corporate companies, that is why he did not take up these issues with full force. If they had agreed with the peasant movement, they could have supported the movement in their respective political fields, not from the platform of the peasant movement. But he did not take up the issues of the farmers strongly and he had to bear the loss.
Ravinder Singh Cheema, leader of Punjab’s Kisan-Ahtiya Kisan Sangh said that from day one the farmers’ movement was completely non-political. We have not allowed any political party to use our platform. In such a situation, there was not much scope for the political impact of the peasant movement.
EVM heavy on farmers issue
Farmer leader Dr. Sunilam said that he does not believe that farmers’ issue did not remain on the ground. The fact is that the issue of farmers continued to remain on the ground and the huge crowd gathered in the rally of Akhilesh Yadav-Jayant Chaudhary has had the effect that SP has emerged as a big political force. He said that even after this, if BJP gets victory, then it should be believed that its real game has been played through EVMs. He said that in western UP alone, there were complaints of EVM malfunctioning at more than 20 places. It is believed that the real game was played through these bad EVMs. He said that the matter should be investigated.
We solved the issues of farmers
BJP leader Shailendra Sharma said that as far as the issue of farmers is concerned, the truth is that a political movement was being run against the central government and BJP in the name of farmers’ movement. The movement was occupied by the big farmers, while the central government was working continuously to strengthen the small farmers of the country. The farmers of the whole country were seeing that the government was working to strengthen the Kisan Samman Nidhi, Crop Insurance Scheme, Neemcoated Urea. This was the reason why BJP got huge support of the people.
