Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was murdered in Bengaluru on Sunday. Initially it was suspected that the former DGP’s wife stabbed him to death. The police has started investigating the case. The Bengaluru Police has taken Pallavi, wife of retired DGP Om Prakash, into custody. However, no arrest is reported yet. In the murder of former DGP Om Prakash, a case of dispute over property between husband and wife is also coming up.
Charges on wife and daughter
The police have not officially said anything in this case. In the FIR of the Om Prakash murder case, wife Pallavi and daughter Kriti have been accused. The son wrote in the complaint that there was frequent quarrel between his mother and father.
Wife and daughter were present at home after the murder
According to the investigation so far, the police came to know about the crime at 4:30 pm on Sunday evening. When the police team reached there, wife Pallavi and her daughter were present in the house. Both did not open the door of the house. After some time HSR out inspectors went there and after a while zonal DCP Sarah Fatima also reached there. After this, the door of the house was opened.
Former DGP was murdered by his wife – sources
Police said that at the time of the crime, there was no one present in the house other than Om Prakash, his wife Pallavi and daughter. However, due to the high profile case, the police say that the proper investigation of the case will start only after the FIR is registered on the son’s complaint and the post -mortem. Till then the police would like to avoid making any statement. According to sources, wife Pallavi has killed her husband Om Prakash.
There was a family dispute between the two about the property
The dispute between husband and wife over property remains a topic of discussion in IPS circles. Omprakash wanted all his assets to his son, while wife Pallavi also wanted a part in it. According to police sources, recently in a WhatsApp group wife Pallavi had told that her husband is harassing her. They are threatening to kill him and his daughter by showing a gun.
A knife was also recovered from the crime site
On the other hand, sources also told that Om Prakash himself had mentioned his friend officers that he is very upset with his wife’s behavior. The police have also recovered the knife from the spot, allegedly attacked Omprakash.
Police wait for forensic report
However, the police are waiting for the forensic report to confirm this. The house of the retired DGP, ie the scene, has been taken into possession. The body of Omprakash will be handed over to the family members after the post -mortem today. The investigation process will begin after the funeral.
