A raid has taken place in Odisha in which everyone is surprised to hear about the properties recovered. Actually, the vigilance department of Odisha has raided the premises of Tara Prasad Mishra, a retired engineer of the Public Works Department, on Monday. The vigilance department, along with more than 40 officers, has raided 9 locations of the retired engineer. Crores of rupees, a large amount of gold, flats and cars etc. have been unearthed in this raid.
What was found in the raid?
Odisha’s vigilance department along with 12 deputy superintendents of police, 12 inspectors, 16 assistant sub-inspectors and other staff conducted simultaneous raids at nine places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jharsuguda. In this raid, property worth crores of rupees has been unearthed, including 1.5 kg gold, cash worth Rs 2.70 crore, expensive cars and 10 luxurious flats.
Expensive watches and cars were also found
Officials have informed that 10 flats, seven plots, bank deposits of more than Rs 2.7 crore, 1.5 kg gold and cash worth Rs 6 lakh have been recovered during the raid. Expensive watches of various brands including Rolex worth Rs 13 lakh, expensive cars like Mercedes Benz and Kia Seltos and a record of Rs 80 lakh spent on the medical education of the engineer’s daughter have also been found.
Foreign currency was also recovered
According to the information given by the department officials, during the investigation at the retired engineer’s place, foreign currency of America, Thailand, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia and Singapore has also been recovered. Along with this, the additional deposits and the amount invested in shares and mutual funds are being assessed. (Report: Language)
