On the occasion of Kartik Purnima in Saharsa district of Bihar, a video is going viral on social media, in which a watchman in police uniform is seen dancing on the stage with a female dancer. This video is from Baluaha village of Mahishi police station area, where a cultural program was organized. It can be clearly seen in the video that the female dancer is dancing on the stage and Mahishi police station watchman Vijay Paswan is dancing sitting between the two dancers in police uniform.
According to Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar, permission was given by the administration to organize a fair and cultural program in Baluaha village and Chowkidar Vijay Paswan was given the responsibility of monitoring the program. But after the cultural part of the program, when obscenity and lewdness started in the dance late at night, the watchman should have stopped it or informed his superiors about it. But instead he himself became a part of this obscene dance, which made the matter even more serious.
The administration has reacted strongly to this incident. An FIR has been registered against Chowkidar Vijay Paswan and the organizers of the event. The administration has made it clear that such incidents will not be tolerated at all and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found indulging in such undisciplined conduct.
This incident raises questions on the discipline of the police administration, where a watchman, who was responsible for maintaining law and order, himself became a part of an indecent demonstration. Since then, the police department and administrative officials of Saharsa district have taken the matter seriously and have assured strict punishment to the culprits.
