Nischal Shetty, co-founder of WazirX
Nischal Shetty, co-founder of crypto exchange WazirX, recently told on the social media platform ‘X’ that he is neither able to sleep nor eat properly since the hackers stole Rs 1,965 crore. Nischal Shetty said that at this time all his efforts are focused on taking the next step and he is busy assessing the loss.
He tweeted, “This is a tough time for everyone. I have been unable to sleep or eat since the incident, but it doesn’t matter. Our customers matter and we understand that. We are working tirelessly on next steps. We need more time to find a solution to the problem of stolen properties. We will keep you updated on a regular basis during this difficult time. Stay strong”
Now Nischal Shetty has tweeted and informed that the WazirX team is actively working on the next steps.
- We are preparing to announce a reward for help in freezing/recovering the stolen assets.
- Further discussions on continuous tracing of fund activities, we are in touch with some teams who claim to be experts in this matter.
- We have informed all other exchanges. Some have responded, some have not yet. We are following up. Their support will be crucial in the recovery of the stolen funds during the transfer.
- Analyzing the data to understand the extent of damage.
- Working on further law enforcement and regulatory processes.
He said, “I am sharing the steps we are taking. Ultimately we want to resolve the impact on customer funds, but we must first analyze all the data before planning the next step. This is an unprecedented attack on one of India’s largest crypto exchanges. It has negatively impacted the entire Web3 ecosystem. I am grateful to everyone in the ecosystem who is supporting us to help resolve this.”
He further added, “As we plan ways to resolve this, we will need support and help from the entire ecosystem. If we come together as an ecosystem, we can find a solution that will help us keep the ethos of the Web3 communities alive and bring hope to participate in the future of this ecosystem. As we go through this unprecedented time, help is expected from everyone in the community.”
