What is the whole matter?
Delhi Police summoned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Telangana Congress’s social media in-charge, state coordinator and spokesperson over a distorted video of Amit Shah on reservation. A team of Delhi Police reached the state Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhawan and served notice to the party’s social media in-charge Manne Satish, state coordinator Naveen Pattem and spokesperson Asma Tasleem.
A notice has reportedly been served under Section 91/160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the leaders have been asked to appear before the Special Cell of Delhi Police on May 1 for investigation of the case registered on April 28. They have been asked to provide information about the videos tweeted/re-tweeted by them on their ‘X’ handle. They were also asked to bring electronic equipment used for the purpose of recording videos before uploading and tweeting along with other electronic equipment.
Delhi Police registered a case under sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171G of IPC and 66-C IT Act. The video of Amit Shah’s speech at a BJP election rally in Siddipet in Medak district on April 25 was allegedly doctored and circulated on social media. The Union Home Minister had said that if BJP comes to power, it will end Muslim reservation and distribute it among SC, ST and OBC. The video was doctored to give the impression that reservations for SC, ST and OBC would be removed.
