West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday strongly condemned the anti-encroachment drive by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. He said that we do not want to bulldoze, we do not want to divide people, but believe in uniting people. TMC will send the party’s research team regarding the Jahangirpuri incident.
Talking to news agency ANI, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “We don’t want to bulldoze. We don’t want to divide people, we want to unite people. Unity is our biggest strength. Culturally. You will be very strong if you remain in unity. But, if you are divided, it will not last long.”
Let us inform that the demolition by bulldozer in Jahangirpuri, Delhi has been banned for at least two weeks. After hearing both the sides, the Supreme Court on Thursday asked to maintain the status quo. The next hearing will be held after two weeks.
TMC team will go to Jahangirpuri
TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s statement comes at a time when the party has said that it will send a fact-find team to Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, which was hit by violence last Saturday during Hanuman Jayanti. TMC leaders including Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Sajda Ahmed, Aparupa Poddar, Mala Roy and Shatabdi Roy will travel to Delhi’s Jahangirpuri as part of this team.
