Swami Ramde spoke on violence in Bangladesh
Haridwar (Uttarakhand): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev condemned the attacks targeting homes, temples and business establishments of Hindus in Bangladesh. He urged the central government to make every possible effort diplomatically and politically to protect Hindu minorities in the neighbouring country. He also expressed his concern over the safety of Hindus living in Bangladesh amid political unrest in the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left Bangladesh following the incident of protests and violence in Bangladesh.
India needs to be cautious
Swami Ramdev said, ‘The way fundamentalist forces are carrying out well-planned attacks on Hindu homes, temples and business establishments in Bangladesh is both shameful and dangerous. I fear that the honour of the mothers and sisters of the Hindu brothers living there may come to the fore, therefore India needs to be cautious. The whole country will have to stand with full force with its minority Hindu brothers of Bangladesh.’ Swami Ramdev said that India should make diplomatic and political efforts to prevent major incidents and if necessary, should also intervene to protect Hindus in Bangladesh.
Trying to create unrest in India too
Swami Ramdev said, “We helped create Bangladesh; if we can create Bangladesh, we should show our strength in protecting the Hindus living there.” He also alleged that some people in India are trying to incite similar unrest within the country under the guise of caste, religion and reservation issues.
He said, “It is unfortunate that some politicians, religious extremists and some YouTubers are trying to create similar unrest in India in the name of caste, religion, reservation and Constitution, which is threatening the unity and integrity of the country. We must strongly counter these efforts.”
Fear of large scale displacement
Meanwhile, many former diplomats and experts have expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh and urged the Indian government to be cautious. They have warned of a large number of people coming to India from Bangladesh. These former diplomats and experts have suspected that unrest may spread due to the arrival of migrants in India. Students’ protests demanding the abolition of reservation in Bangladesh started which gradually turned into anti-government protests and Sheikh Hasin had to flee Bangladesh. (ANI)
