New Delhi. Mumbai Indians have faced their second consecutive defeat in IPL 2024. Mumbai, captained by Hardik Pandya, was defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad by 31 runs in the match played in Hyderabad. After the defeat, Hardik Pandya told where the mistake happened. Pandya said that he had never thought that the Hyderabad team would score such a big score. The Mumbai captain admitted that he could have tried something different while bowling but it did not happen. The batsmen scored a lot of runs in this match. Mumbai team also presented a tough challenge but despite getting a good start, its team could only score 246 runs for 5 wickets. In this way, a total of 523 runs were scored in the match, which is a record for IPL. Not only this, 38 sixes were hit in this match which is a new record in T20 cricket.

Hardik Pandya further said, ‘We have a young bowling attack. We will learn from this defeat. We need to improve some things. If we are successful in fixing that then everything will be fine. After Mumbai’s second consecutive defeat, people have started questioning Hardik Pandya’s captaincy. Mumbai also made a fast start. From his side, Tilak Verma scored the highest 64 runs in 34 balls which included two fours and six sixes.
Rohit-Ishaan gave a fast start to Mumbai
Tim David reduced the margin of defeat by scoring unbeaten 42 runs on 22 balls. Mumbai also scored 76 runs for two wickets in the power play but in the meantime it lost the wickets of both the openers Ishan Kishan (34 runs on 13 balls) and Rohit Sharma (26 runs on 12 balls), who made a strong start as per the conditions. Rohit hit three sixes in his innings while Kishan hit four sixes, which also included three sixes hit by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in one over.
