1. There will be heavy rains in Delhi-NCR this weekend
After the rains in Delhi-NCR on Thursday, there was water-logging at many places. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain even today. According to meteorologist Kuldeep Srivastava, due to Western Disturbance and monsoon trough line moving towards Delhi, there will be good rains in Delhi on July 8 and 9 i.e. this weekend. Regarding this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert in the capital. Today there will be respite from the heat in Delhi and the maximum temperature will be around 30 degrees.
2. Rain continues to wreak havoc in many parts of Kerala
Heavy rains in many areas of Kerala have increased the problems of the people. Holiday has been declared for schools in many districts. Flood like situation has arisen in some areas. Because of this the people who were rendered homeless had to take shelter in relief camps. The IMD has also issued an orange alert in six districts of the state. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan informed through a Facebook post on Wednesday that a total of 47 relief camps have been set up in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts. 879 people have been shifted there. The CM also pointed out that there is a possibility of flash floods, landslides and water-logging in low-lying areas due to the continuation of heavy rains and hence people and government agencies should be alert and take precautions.
3. Chances of heavy rains in Uttarakhand
The weather pattern has deteriorated in Uttarakhand. It is raining heavily from the mountains to the plains. According to the Meteorological Center, similar weather will continue till July 9. According to the Center, on Thursday, there will be moderate to heavy rain with thunder in the districts of Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. The department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall for Bageshwar, Tehri, Dehradun and Pithoragarh. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at a few places in Dehradun, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Rudraprayag and Almora districts. Director of Meteorological Center Dr. Vikram Singh said that orange alert has been issued for four districts while there is yellow alert for rain in the rest of the districts. Here a warning has been issued for thunder, lightning and intense, very intense spells of rain. Keeping in view the warning of incessant heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the administration has declared a day’s holiday for all schools in Nainital and Almora on July 7.
4. Rain alert in many districts of UP
These days it is raining well in many districts of UP. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainy season will continue in the state for the next few days. On July 11-12, it will rain at almost all places in western and eastern UP. There is a warning of heavy rain in many districts of UP on Friday. Many cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur have been cloudy since this morning. There are chances of rain and thundershowers in western UP today, while in eastern UP it may rain with thundershowers at some places. Till July 12, there may be rain and thundershowers at many places in western UP, while in the same time, it is expected to rain at some places in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
5. Forecast of good rains in Mumbai for next 2-3 days
Monsoon has once again become active in Mumbai and it is being predicted that there may be heavy rains on Friday. The Meteorological Department and experts say that the rains will continue at this pace for the next two-three days. According to the information, till July 6 this season, 591.3 mm of rain has been recorded in the city and 907.6 mm in the suburbs. Mahesh Palawat, a scientist at Skymet, a private weather forecasting organization, said that a system has formed over Gujarat, due to which there are chances of good rains. After this the rain will become light.
6. Monsoon mood happy due to heavy rains for two days
After a delayed and weak start in El Nino, the monsoon is now in full swing. The countrywide rain deficit has come down to 5 per cent till Thursday from 30 per cent till 12 days ago. Rainfall in the last 12 days since July 24 has covered most of the country, including the central and southern parts, where the monsoon deficit was worryingly high. At the same time, it also put a brake on the apprehension that the monsoon may stop around the first week of July. Officials of the Meteorological Department say that rain will continue across the country for a few weeks.
7. It rained all over the country for two weeks
According to IMD chief Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, going by the current indications, rainfall is likely to be above normal in July. Rainfall this month can range from 94% to 106%. Active Monsoon conditions are expected to continue for the next two weeks, he said. Mohapatra said that the rain activity is currently in central India. It will reach the Indo-Gangetic plains around July 8.
8. Rain alert in Bihar
It is raining heavily in most areas of Bihar these days. Many areas including Bhagalpur, Supaul, Patna have received 15 to 50 mm of rain. According to the Meteorological Department, during the next 24 hours, heavy rain may occur at some places in Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur and Banka districts. Whereas, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in other parts of the state. During this, a warning of lightning has also been issued. According to the Meteorological Department, till July 10, good rain is expected in various districts of the state.
9. Long jam on roads in Delhi-NCR
In Delhi-NCR on Thursday, there was massive waterlogging on the roads after rains. Due to this, there was heavy jam in many areas of the city. Due to the time of peak hours in the morning, the problems of the people increased further. Traffic police say that traffic signals were closed due to power supply failure at many places due to rain. Traffic was operated manually at such places. The areas where traffic was most affected were Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Vikas Marg, ITO, Akshardham, NH-24/NH-9, Ring Road, DND, Purana Qila Road, Pragati Maidan, Zoo, Ashram, Pusa Road, Places like MB Road, GTK Depot, Pandav Nagar Underpass, Sarita Vihar Underpass, Sunlight Colony, Barapullah Elevated Road were prominent. Many km long jam was seen on these roads in the morning.
10. Heavy rain alert for two days in Rajasthan
Due to the activation of Monsoon in Rajasthan, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain is likely over most parts of eastern parts and most parts of Bikaner and Jodhpur division of western parts in next few days. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rains in most parts of the eastern part of the state and Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions of the western part, while there is a strong possibility of heavy rains at some places and very heavy rains at one or two places in the next four to five days. According to the department, in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains were recorded in some parts of the state while torrential rains were recorded at some places in Karauli district and heavy rains were recorded at some places in Banswara, Bharatpur, Dungarpur, and Jaipur districts. The department has issued orange alert for eastern parts and yellow alert for western parts for the next two days.
