Churu. Heat has broken all records in Rajasthan. The mercury reached 50.5 degrees on Tuesday in Churu district of the state. Red alert for heat is issued in Churu district. Here the heat has broken all the records of this season. The Meteorological Center recorded a maximum temperature of 50.5 degrees. This is 7.5 degrees Celsius more than normal. Earlier, on June 1, 2019, there was record heat in Churu when the temperature was recorded at 50.8 degrees. After 5 years in 2019, once again the temperature here made a record. Here today morning started with a temperature of 38.6 degrees, which reached 45.4 degrees at 11 o’clock. At 2 pm, the temperature here was recorded at 47.6 degrees.
Since the establishment of Churu Meteorological Center in 1971, this is the second such season when the mercury has crossed 50 degrees. The heat has imposed a lockdown in the afternoon. There are curfew-like conditions on the roads. In view of the scorching heat, the Municipal Council got water sprinkled on the burning roads with the help of fire brigade. The fire brigades of the Municipal Council kept running on the roads sounding the alarm siren and kept spraying water but this effort of the Municipal Council could not provide relief to the people. Fire kept raining from the sky and the roads became red due to heat. The heat waves forced people to stay in the shade. Coolers and fans also proved ineffective in removing the heat.
Most parts of the state are in the grip of heat wave
Most parts of Rajasthan are in the grip of heat wave. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 50.5 degrees in Churu, 49.4 degrees in Ganganagar, 49.0 degrees in Pilani and Phalodi, 48.3 degrees in Bikaner, 48.2 degrees in Kota, 48.0 degrees in Jaisalmer, 46.6 degrees in Jaipur and 46.0 degrees Celsius in Barmer. The maximum temperature in Pilani on Tuesday was 49.0 degrees Celsius, which is the highest so far. Similarly, in Churu, the maximum temperature was recorded at 50.8 degrees Celsius earlier in June 2019.

The heat in the state can be gauged from the fact that the minimum temperature in Kota was also recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius which is 4.6 degrees Celsius more than normal. The state has been experiencing severe heat for almost a week. The weather center has expressed hope that the maximum temperature may fall by two to four degrees Celsius in the coming 48 hours, which may provide some relief to the people of the state from the scorching heat. According to the center, there is a possibility of thunder, storm and light rain in some parts of the northern parts of the state due to the effect of a new western disturbance from May 31. These activities will continue on June 1 and 2 as well.
