Kolkata. After Partha Chatterjee, now another close aide of Mamta Banerjee has been arrested. The name of this special TMC leader of Mamta is Anubrata Mandal. Mandal has been arrested by the CBI for not cooperating in the investigation of animal smuggling case. Anubrata was summoned by the CBI for questioning on Wednesday, but Anubrata had sought two weeks’ time by stating that she was ill. After which he was arrested by the investigating agency today. Earlier, the CBI had arrested many people, including Anubrata’s security personnel, on this charge. Anubrata Mandal is in-charge of TMC in Birbhum district. The CBI on Monday filed the fourth chargesheet in the Asansol court in the animal smuggling case. In this, 11 people including Anubrata’s bodyguard Saigal Hussain have been named as accused. The 40-page chargesheet states that Saigal took money from animal smugglers and carried them to Anubrata.
According to the CBI, it has got all the documentary evidence about the receipt of money from animal smuggling. The investigating agency says that it has also got documents of 49 properties purchased with this amount. The CBI has said in the chargesheet that the mobile call details of Saigal, the bodyguard of Anubrata Mandal, revealed that he was in contact with animal smugglers. In this chargesheet, the CBI has also named Vikas, brother of absconding TMC leader Binay Mishra. Now Anubrata is caught in a vortex of difficulties.

Let us tell you that in the case of animal smuggling, the CBI had raided many places in Birbhum district of West Bengal in the past. These raids of CBI took place in Ilambazar and Nanur areas. CBI raids were conducted at the houses of local TMC leaders including Mohammad Najibuddin alias Tulu Mandal, Abdul Karim Khan and Zia-ul Haq Sheikh alias Mukto. In the raid, evidence of many other cases including animal smuggling was found by the investigating agency.
