In West Bengal, senior Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee was on Saturday appointed the party’s national vice-president. The total number of members holding this post has gone up to four. Chatterjee is also the Industries Minister of Bengal. He will also continue to serve as the party’s state general secretary, a position he has held for more than two decades.
This decision has been taken after party chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appointed Abhishek Banerjee back as the National General Secretary of TMC. Mamata Banerjee has formed her new team of office bearers in which she has relied mainly on the old loyalists.

Apart from this, two other senior leaders Subrata Bakshi and Chandrima Bhattacharya were also given the post of vice-president.
