Kolkata. The condition of women imprisoned in the jails of West Bengal has been revealed in the hearing of Calcutta High Court. In the bench of Calcutta High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice Supratim Bhattacharya, the amicus has told that female prisoners lodged in jails are getting pregnant. The High Court has been told that till now the female prisoners in jail have given birth to 196 children. The amicus has also recommended removal of all male staff from the women’s prison. On this news, BJP’s social media head Amit Malviya has taunted by taking the name of TMC supremo and state CM Mamata Banerjee.

The issue of female prisoners becoming pregnant in jail is very serious. The Calcutta High Court bench itself has said this after receiving the information. The Chief Justice has transferred the case to the bench hearing criminal cases. Actually, female prisoners are kept completely separate from male prisoners. If the female prisoner already has a child and it is small, then she gets permission to keep her with her. Now the question is that when female prisoners are kept separate from men in jail, how are they getting pregnant? The question is also that female prisoners are continuously getting pregnant and about 200 children have been born due to this, so has the West Bengal government organized any inquiry in this regard or not? Overall, this seems to be another issue for BJP against the Mamata Banerjee government.
There is a conflict between Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and BJP on many issues in West Bengal. BJP continues to corner Mamata Banerjee. At the same time, Mamata Banerjee also continuously targets BJP. Mamata Banerjee had recently staged a protest in Kolkata against the central government, accusing it of not providing the necessary funds to the state. Mamata Banerjee continuously accuses the Center that the Modi government is not even giving the money for MNREGA. Mamata Banerjee’s enmity with BJP on the issue of communalism is old. Now the issue of women becoming pregnant in jails has also come to the fore before the Lok Sabha elections. In the past also, BJP has been continuously raising the issue of oppression of women in West Bengal. In such a situation, there are full chances of the latest issue getting heated up.
