Jaipur. Today on AnyTV’s platform Rising Rajasthan 2024, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the opposition spreads confusion in the society. Meghwal said that the Constitution is supreme. On this occasion, Meghwal also clarified the entire situation on the Collegium. At the same time, he also took a dig at the opposition leader’s love for OBCs and said that when the Congress government was in power, where was his love for OBCs. Regarding quota within quota, he also said that the opposition spread confusion on this. Meghwal answered questions frankly on the AnyTV platform.
On the question of collegium, Meghwal said that Article 124 of the Constitution talks about the appointment of judges in the Supreme Court. It also talks about consultation with the President. But in the meantime, the Supreme Court made a provision for collegium for the appointment of judges. In that, they said that now there will be collegium in the appointment of judges. This came into effect under the decisions taken in 1993 and 1994. This collegium system is currently in force in the Supreme Court and High Courts.
