Lucknow. In the 26th match of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals won against Lucknow Supergiants very easily. Chasing the target of 167 runs, registered a big victory by 6 wickets with 11 balls remaining. After this, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant said that he had advised the players to think like champions. This is Delhi’s second win in six matches in the current IPL season.
Pant said at the awards ceremony after the match, “I am feeling a little relieved.” We wanted to win at any cost. While talking to the players, I was saying that we need to think like champions, we need to continue fighting hard.
After restricting Lucknow to 167 runs for seven wickets, Delhi achieved the target with the loss of four wickets in 18.1 overs. For Delhi, Jack Fraser McGurk contributed 55 runs while Pant contributed 41 runs. Before this, Kuldeep laid the foundation of victory by taking three important wickets for 20 runs in four overs. When asked about the team’s bowling, Pant said, “There were moments where we did not live up to the expectations, some players will have to take responsibility for this.” We live together as a group. Some things you can control, some things are not in your control.
Pant said that many players in the team are injured but he does not want to make any excuse. He said, “We are close to deciding the right eleven.” There are a lot of injured players in our team, but we cannot make that an excuse. We have almost got a player in the form of McGurk for the third position. Although haven’t thought much about it but hopefully he will continue playing like this.
