New Delhi. Everyone’s eyes were on the T20 series played between India and Sri Lanka. Gautam Gambhir is on his first foreign tour as Indian coach. Team India started the tour by winning three consecutive matches and clean swept the host team in the T20 series. In the last match, coach Gambhir took such decisions due to which India could have lost the chance of winning 3-0. Keeping in mind the future plans, he made Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh bowl the last two overs.

The Indian team won the T20 series against Sri Lanka by 3-0. In this victory, the influence of captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir was clearly visible. Some experiments were done during the series which went in India’s favour. In the third match, when the decision of victory and defeat was to be made, the coach took the difficult decision of making Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav bowl at a difficult time. The amazing thing is that the decision proved to be correct but if there was a mistake, the match would have been lost.

In the third T20 against Sri Lanka, when only 9 runs were left from 12 balls, Gambhir decided to get the 19th over bowled by Rinku Singh. He took 2 wickets for 3 runs and India made a comeback in the match. After this, in the last over, when 6 runs were needed from 6 balls, the captain asked Suryakumar Yadav to bowl. The amazing thing is that he also took 2 wickets in the over and the match was tied.

Gautam Gambhir’s plan was clearly visible, after winning the series he was ready to settle for a clean sweep. That’s why he first sent Rinku Singh and then Suryakumar Yadav to bowl. On the field, captain Suryakumar Yadav was seen implementing Gambhir’s plan and India won the series 3-0.
