Thiruvananthapuram. Congress MP and former party president Rahul Gandhi has canceled his election campaign program in Kerala today. While giving this information on Sunday, Congress has cited Rahul Gandhi’s sudden illness as the reason behind this step.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) acting president and United Democratic Front (UDF) convenor MM Hassan said that all Gandhi’s public meetings scheduled for Monday have been cancelled.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi skipped the ‘India’ alliance rally in Ranchi. Regarding this, senior party leader Jairam Ramesh said, ‘He suddenly became ill and is currently unable to leave from New Delhi.’
Congress General Secretary Ramesh said, ‘Rahul Gandhi was all set to campaign today in Satna and Ranchi, where the ‘India’ rally was proposed. He suddenly fell ill and is currently unable to leave from New Delhi.
Rahul Gandhi is the Congress candidate from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Voting for 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala will be held on April 26.
