We may be celebrating the victory, although some people believe that the victory or success of 2024 was very minor. Perhaps a lot still needs to be done.’ Khurshid said, ‘The truth is that something else is going on beneath the surface.’

Salman Khurshid said, ‘What is happening in Bangladesh can happen here too… The situation in our country does not deteriorate the way it has deteriorated in Bangladesh due to the spread of the virus. When Salman Khurshid was giving this statement, RJD MP Manoj Jha was also present on the stage. Manoj Jha said, ‘The success of Shaheen Bagh should not be measured on the scale of its grandeur.’ He said, ‘Remember what the Shaheen Bagh protest was… when the Parliament was defeated, the streets came alive.’

Salman Khurshid also said that a movement like Shaheen Bagh cannot happen in the country today. Khurshid said, ‘Will you feel bad if I say that Shaheen Bagh failed? Many people believe that Shaheen Bagh was successful. But I know what is happening to the people associated with Shaheen Bagh. How many of them are still in jail? How many of them cannot get bail? How many of them are being told that they are enemies of this country?’ He said, ‘If I ask myself tomorrow whether Shaheen Bagh will be repeated and I am not sure that it will happen because people have really suffered a lot.’
