money laundering In this case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, says that being a diabetic patient, he was demanding insulin daily from the jail administration. He said that the jail administration is lying about his health due to political pressure. The Chief Minister also rejected the claim of AIIMS doctors that his health was fine and there was nothing to worry about. Amidst the ongoing war of words between Tihar Jail administration and Delhi CM Kejriwal, do you know what insulin is? Why is this important for diabetic patients? Why and when is it needed?
First of all let us know what is insulin? Insulin is a type of hormone, which is produced naturally inside the body and works to control the level of glucose in the blood. Most people know insulin as the cause of diabetes. According to experts, if insulin is not produced properly in the body or it is not able to do its work properly then a person can become a diabetes patient. Let us tell you that not every diabetes patient needs insulin. Which diabetic patients need insulin?
What does insulin do in the body?
Apart from controlling the amount of sugar in the blood, insulin also works to save fat in the body. The body uses this saved fat when needed. Insulin also works to provide energy to every cell of the body, that is, it delivers limited amount of glucose to every cell. To keep our body active, both the production of insulin and its absorption are necessary. If there is any problem in this process then the person starts feeling tired and helpless. Insulin helps in maintaining proper metabolic process.

Where and how is insulin made in the body?
Insulin is produced in the pancreas and is of many types depending on its functionality. After eating food, when the amount of sugar and glucose in the blood increases, insulin is secreted to control the increased sugar. Now the question arises that if a person becomes a diabetes patient then why is there a need to take insulin injection? In fact, people who have type-1 diabetes are unable to produce insulin due to the destruction of insulin-producing beta cells in their pancreas. At the same time, people who have type-2 diabetes, insulin is produced in their body but it is not effective. In such a situation, insulin is needed to control the amount of glucose.

Insulin produced in the body and injected is one?
The efficiency of the insulin used to control sugar in diabetic patients is different from the insulin produced in the body. This difference is based on the effect of insulin. Diabetes patients usually take insulin with the help of injection. In this, there is an insulin which starts taking effect within 15 minutes of injection and fulfills the deficiency of insulin in the body for about four hours. Whereas, the second insulin takes effect 30 minutes after injection and fulfills the insulin deficiency in the body for 6 hours. An insulin takes effect 2 hours after injection and remains in the body for 12 hours. The fourth insulin takes effect after an hour and remains in the body for 24 hours.

How many types of insulin injectors are there?
Many types of insulin shots are available in the market. Many of these insulin pens are pre-filled and disposable. At the same time, some pens are considered durable. These can be used again and again by inserting a new insulin cartridge. Some people use disposable syringes for insulin shots due to cost or other reasons. The length of the needle in an insulin syringe depends on your body type and the length of the syringe on the amount of insulin. If you have a lot of fat in your body, a longer needle may be needed. At the same time, if you inject more quantity of insulin at one time, you will need a bigger syringe.

For whom is insulin jet injector better?
Insulin pumps are worn continuously and are filled with insulin which is delivered through a thin plastic or metal cannula that is placed just under the skin. The infusion set is usually changed every 2-3 days. Apart from this, needle is not used in insulin jet injector. They spray insulin just under the skin. Dosing insulin with a jet injector is not always as accurate as with a pen or syringe, because some of the insulin may remain on top of the skin. However, the jet injector works well for those who are afraid of needles.
