When Local18 team tried to know about Keto diet from him, he said that nowadays youth are following Keto diet to lose weight quickly but not everyone should follow this diet. Because in keto diet the intake of carbs has to be completely reduced. It includes things rich in protein and fat. Keto diet, also known as ketogenic diet, is a high-fat diet. When fat increases in the body, the body starts taking energy from fat instead of getting energy from carbohydrates.
Who can do keto diet
Dr. Priyanka Jaiswal said that in any normal situation no doctor recommends keto diet. Keto diet is recommended only if there is a fundamental medical condition. Like someone is having seizures, the patient is not able to digest carbohydrates or does not have enzymes in his body. But this diet also reduces weight, but this diet has never been a diet for weight loss.
Many harmful effects on the body
He told that this quick fix weight loss has become popular and it is sad that people do it, it should not be done at all. It is like a chit fund scam, where people see immediate benefits and find it to be a good source of income but later on they realize its losses. Similarly, keto diet appears to be a means of quick weight loss, but it has many harmful effects on the body. Proper and balanced food can also act as medicine and if you consume it as poison, it can also be poisonous for your body.
