New Delhi. Voting has been completed on all the seats of Gujarat under Lok Sabha elections 2024. Elections were held on Monday under the third phase but even today the exact figures of vote percentage in the state have not been released by the Election Commission. Why is this happening, the reason for the delay was also given by the Election Commission. An Election Commission official said that after adding the data of postal ballots, the final data will be available by evening.
“The estimated voter turnout in Gujarat was recorded at 59.51 percent,” an Election Commission statement said. According to Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) P Bharathi, the final figures of voting percentage will be available by evening after the postal ballot data is added. Bharti said, “Polling centre-wise data is now being fed into the system and counting of postal ballots is yet to take place. Therefore, there will be a slight increase in the final figure, not much. This 59.51 percent voting is almost final.”

Why is voting less in figures?
This time Gujarat’s vote percentage is 4.6 percent less than the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, 64.11 percent voting took place in the entire state. There are total 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat whereas this time elections were held only on 25 seats. BJP candidate has been elected unopposed in Surat. In the 25 Lok Sabha seats where elections were held, 59.51 percent voting took place. Valsad constituency saw the highest turnout of 72.24 percent, while Amreli seat in Saurashtra region saw the lowest turnout of 49.44 percent. Valsad also topped the list in 2019 with an impressive turnout of 75.22 percent. This is the only seat where more than 70 percent voters came to exercise their franchise on Tuesday, while Amreli is the only seat where less than 50 percent voting took place.
Clash between BJP-INDI alliance in Bharuch-Banakantha
Bharuch and Banaskantha seats recorded 68.75 percent and 68.55 percent voting respectively, which saw a tough fight between the BJP and the opposition Indian Alliance. Barring Valsad seat, three other ST-reserved seats – Chhota Udaipur, Dahod and Bardoli – saw a significant decline in voting this time compared to the last election. As compared to 73.44 percent voting in 2019, this time 67.78 percent voting was recorded in Chhota Udaipur, a decline of 5.66 percent. This time 58.66 percent voting took place in Dahod, whereas in 2019, 66.18 percent voting took place, which is 7.52 percent less.
