Diabetes patients can control diabetes by making the right combination of diet and medicine. However, a good lifestyle and regular exercise are also necessary for this.
What should be the diet plan of sugar patients?
Dietitian Kamini Sinha said that diabetes patients need moderate protein and plenty of fiber in breakfast. For this, consume foods like oats, vegetable porridge, sprouts, gram flour chilla, chia seeds pudding, multigrain avocado toast, curd and egg in breakfast. These foods will provide the necessary energy and other nutrients till noon. If you feel like eating something sweet, you can also eat any fruit in small quantities. The most important thing is that diabetes patients should not skip breakfast. Doing so can cause blood sugar to fluctuate.
Diabetic patients can eat seasonal vegetables, dal, roti, salad and curd in lunch. Those who like rice a lot can eat starch free rice in lunch. Eating salad of cucumber, tomato and spinach can be most beneficial. Diabetic patients can also make and drink tomato soup in lunch. Apart from this, beans and tofu can be included in lunch. Non-vegetarian people can eat chicken in limited quantity in lunch.
Dinner of diabetes patients should be lighter and simpler than breakfast and lunch. You can consume porridge, vegetables, roti and salad in it. However, one thing should be kept in mind that fruits should not be consumed at night and dinner should not be too heavy. If your diet plan is good, still the sugar level is increasing, then you should consult a doctor.
