WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging app in the world. New features are constantly coming to Facebook-owned WhatsApp and many times they do not support it in devices running on the old operating system. WhatsApp has consistently ended its support for older versions of Android and iOS over the past few years. It is now reported that WhatsApp will stop working on iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C in the coming months.
Due to not supporting new features in older OS and devices, the company stops supporting them. That is, in the coming time, users will not be able to use WhatsApp in iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. Apart from this, users who have devices running iOS 10 and iOS 11 OS will also not be able to experience WhatsApp.
A screenshot shared on wabetainfo shows that WhatsApp will no longer work on devices running iOS 10 and iOS 11 from October 24, 2022. Apart from this, the company has told on the official WhatsApp Help Center that support will be available on iOS 12 and later versions and has also suggested to use them only.
If your iPhone is running iOS 10 and if you want to use WhatsApp on your iPhone 5S, 6 or 6S, then upgrade to iOS 12. It may be that if you use the old iOS version only, then the latest features of WhatsApp may not work. iOS updates always include security fixes, so it’s important to upgrade your OS.
Earlier reports had revealed that WhatsApp users will now be able to leave the group silently. The company is also working on several other features like rich link previews for text message status, quick reaction for status updates, companion mode and search filter.
