When Manu Bhaker won a medal in Paris Olympics, the whole country rejoiced, PM Modi and President Murmu congratulated her like this..

New Delhi. Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has achieved a historic feat by winning the bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event at the Paris Olympics. In this way, India’s 12-year wait for a medal in Olympic shooting ended. This is also India’s first medal at the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker qualified for the final of this event on 27 July and finished third with 221.7 points. The gold and silver medals were won by Korean shooters. O Ye Jin won the gold medal with an Olympic record 243.2 points, while Kim Yeji won the silver medal with 241.3 points.

After this victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Bhaker on the social media platform X and called the medal a historic achievement. He wrote, “A historic medal! Congratulations to Manu Bhaker on winning the first medal for India at the Paris Olympics… Congratulations for the bronze medal. This success is even more special as she has become the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.”

Manu Bhaker’s bronze medal is a significant achievement, especially considering that India had not won an Olympic shooting medal since the London 2012 Olympics. Indian shooters returned empty-handed from both Rio 2016 and Tokyo Olympics.

President Draupadi Murmu also congratulated her and said, “Hearty congratulations to Manu Bhaker for making India proud by winning the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics. She is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting. India is proud of Manu Bhaker. Her achievement will inspire many athletes, especially women. I wish her all the best to touch new heights in the future.”
