Actually, Satnam Singh, a resident of Bathinda district of Punjab, used to work in the farm sector in Italy. On June 17, his hand got cut off after coming in contact with a machine. This worsened Satnam Singh’s condition. But his employer turned out to be ruthless. Instead of taking Satnam Singh to the hospital, he left him outside the house. Although, friends and family arranged for an air ambulance after a long time, he could not be saved. He died 2 days later.
The Indian government had raised the matter
After the death of Satnam Singh, the Indian community present in Italy protested heavily. They demanded strict action against the owner of the farm sector. Satnam Singh’s brother Amritpal Singh said, if my brother had received timely treatment, his life could have been saved. After this, the Indian government also raised the issue before the Italian government. The government there assured to investigate and take action.
