A child from the village was bitten by a snake, which worsened his condition. The family immediately took him to the doctor, but on the way the doctor declared the child dead. However, parents were not ready to accept the child’s death. He called a local tantric that claimed to have the dead child alive. He pressed the body of the child into cow dung, but the child could not return.
According to the information, Mayank, the 11 -year -old son of Pramod Kumar, a resident of Mitauli village, was bitten by a snake on Sunday night. Mayank did not know the snake bites due to deep sleep. His health started deteriorating in the morning. The family first treated him at home, but to no avail. His condition was getting worse. He was then taken to a local doctor, but refused to treat the child and advised him to be taken to the city hospital.
The family reached Aligarh’s Medical College with Mayank, where doctors declared him dead. When the child’s gold room was searched, a snake was also recovered from there. The snake was caught. Someone told the family that a tantric from Neemgaon village fixes the people cut from a snake. Due to superstition, the family took the child’s body to the tantric.
The tantric pressed the body of the child into cow dung. For about two and a half to three hours, the body of the child was pressed in cow dung. The whole village gathered there in the hope that the child would be alive. After about three hours, the body was taken out and the family returned to their village with him. A few years ago a similar case came up in Ballari district of Karnataka where a couple pressed their dead son into salt to revive their dead son. Later, the officers and the police explained to them that this is superstition, after which they took out the body and performed the last rites.
