New Delhi. After Friday Friday prayers, there was a lot of outrage, stone pelting and sabotage in the cities of different parts of the country over the statement given by former BJP national spokesperson Nupur Sharma in the first TV debate. At present, appeals are being made to the people of Hindu-Muslim religions for peace and mutual brotherhood, but Saddam, who lives in Chhawni area of Kota Rajasthan, entered the house of his neighbor Lokendra Jatav yesterday with his companions at around 10 pm. By attacking Lokendra and the woman present in the house with sharp weapons and iron rods because of a small dispute, this appeal for peace was defied. Where the country is already scorching by communal tension, this attack on a Dalit youth may inflame further anger among the people. In the complaint given to the police against Saddam and his accomplices, there are allegations of not only assault, but also of outraging the modesty of the women of the house and insulting the victim Dalit youth along with the family with casteist words. Lokendra sustained injuries on his eye and neck in this attack. After the attack, Lokendra has lodged a case at Gumanpura police station. The police have started investigation by registering a case against Saddam under sections 323,341,452,354,506,34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and the SC-ST Act, 1989.
Victim Lokendra told in the police complaint that Saddam and his other three accomplices came in front of his house with a car and they parked the car in front of the gate. The victim asked them not to park the car in front of the gate of the house and an altercation ensued. After this, the accused Saddam and his accomplices took out sharp weapons and iron rods from the car and entered the house, attacking the main gate of the house. He assaulted the victim and the woman of the house with a sharp weapon, outraged the modesty of the women and threatened to kill the family along with the victim. Accused Saddam addressed the victim and his family with casteist words.
Victim and complainant Lokendra said that last night there was a small dispute over car parking, on which the neighbor Saddam and his associates abused and attacked the entire family. It is astonishing that when the brawl broke out, a middle-aged woman came out of Saddam’s house and instead of pacifying the accused, was provoking them to attack with a baton of a baseball. Saddam is a tenant in the neighborhood. The housemates are scared after the said attack. People of all Muslim religions live around us. Saddam has criminal tendencies.”
Investigating Officer Deputy Superintendent Ankit Jain did not give a clear answer about the arrest of the accused and said that the investigation in the case is going on. Expressing concern over the attack on Dalit youth, Bajrang Dal’s co-province coordinator Yogesh Renwal has demanded speedy justice to the victim’s family. He says that “this heinous attack has exposed the slogan of “Mim-Bheem”. The mighty Dalit community of Hindu society has been subjected to violence under the guise of such false slogans for political gains. Our Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes people need to be very careful not to get confused by them. Hindu society will not sit silent till the strictest action is ensured against the attackers along with the protection, compensation of the victim’s Dalit family.
