New Delhi, The problems of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is trapped in the Delhi liquor scam case, seem to be increasing. A day ago, after getting bail from the Rouse Avenue Court, it seemed that he would come out of Tihar Jail, but now with the High Court reserving the decision, it has become clear that for now the Chief Minister of Delhi will have to spend a few more days in jail. Now everything will depend on when and what kind of decision the High Court gives.
Rouse Avenue Court had granted regular bail to Arvind Kejriwal, which was immediately challenged by ED in the High Court. ED said very strongly in the court that the trial court ignored its arguments. Not only this, it was not even given enough opportunity. Whatever was said, everything was ignored by the trial court. ASG SV Raju, appearing on behalf of ED in the High Court, clearly said that Kejriwal is guilty in two ways. He demanded crores of rupees in personal capacity and also as the head of AAP, because this money was used by Aam Aadmi Party. He is not innocent at all. We have traced 45 crores and also shown how this money was used in the elections. All this is enough to reject the bail order.
What did Singhvi answer?
After this, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Bikram responded on behalf of Kejriwal. They questioned the ED’s speed. They even said that none of the accused took Kejriwal’s name. Not a single penny was recovered. The witnesses whose names are being taken were immediately granted bail. They were benefited. It seems that those witnesses gave statements under pressure. After about 5 hours of cross-examination, the High Court finally reserved the decision.
what will happen next
With the High Court reserving its decision, the trial court’s order granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will remain stayed for the time being. The High Court said that it will pass an order on the ED’s petition in two or three days. Till then, the trial court’s order will remain stayed. This makes it clear that Kejriwal will not be able to come out of jail until next week. He will have to spend two-three days in jail. It is also being said that the High Court may pronounce its verdict in this case on June 25. If the High Court upholds the Rouse Avenue Court’s decision, then the way for Kejriwal to come out of Tihar will be clear. But if the High Court considers the ED’s arguments strong and cancels the Rouse Avenue Court’s decision, then the Delhi Chief Minister will have no choice. Then he will have to knock the doors of the High Court for his bail.
