The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted scorching heat and heat wave conditions in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. After this, light rain is expected in many areas of the capital Delhi and NCR on 20 and 21 June (Thursday and Friday). The Meteorological Department said that light rain may occur in Delhi after June 19. During this time, the speed of the winds can be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

A large number of people are struggling for water due to the scorching heat, with water levels in reservoirs and rivers hitting record lows. Lack of water for irrigation has affected farming in some areas. There is heavy pressure on the power grid and incidents of short circuits and fires have increased.
Orai of UP was the hottest place in the country
At least ten places in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana recorded temperatures reaching or exceeding 45 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Orai in Uttar Pradesh was the hottest place in the country at 46.4 degrees Celsius. Heat wave continued in most parts of Rajasthan on Tuesday despite a marginal drop in day temperatures compared to Monday. Sangaria was the hottest place in the state at 44.9 degrees. In the past few weeks, temperatures have breached 50 degrees Celsius twice in Rajasthan and Delhi has recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius for 36 consecutive days.
