Noida International Airport It is expected to start flight services by April 2025. Earlier, the deadline of September 2024 was missed due to delay in construction. Recently, there were reports of delay in the construction work of the state-of-the-art airport being built in Jewar area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, about 75 km from Delhi. The airport was planned to start flight operations by September 2024. The airport said in a statement on Monday, “Given the current construction status, we hope to start commercial operations by the end of April 2025.
The construction work is in the advanced stage
The statement further said, “We are working closely with our EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor Tata Projects Limited and other stakeholders to keep the pace of construction activities and operational readiness at a rapid pace.” The airport said that agreements have been signed with several airline companies for flight connectivity from Noida International Airport. The airport also said that the construction work is in an advanced stage.
This will be India’s largest airport
According to the statement, “Construction and development work at Noida International Airport is in advanced stages and we are moving rapidly towards operational readiness. This is a large and complex project and the next few weeks of construction activities are crucial.” The statement said that work on the runway, passenger terminal and control tower has progressed significantly and recently concessions have been given for ground handling, operation of commercial areas and important maintenance contracts. It is believed that upon completion of this project, it will be the largest airport in India. The airport will be developed in an area of more than 5,000 hectares in four phases.
