Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has written a letter to his ministers and asked them for a report on their visits to the districts under their charge, night stays in the districts and interactions with the people. This report, which is to be given every month, has not been submitted by the ministers since March.
In December 2022, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over the charge of districts to his ministers. Dhami expected the ministers to visit one development block in their district every month and inspect the development schemes. Stay there at night. Listen to the problems of the public and workers during the night rest. Give necessary guidelines to the officers to solve the problems.
The ministers of Uttarakhand had to send a detailed report of their night stay every month to the Chief Minister through the Program Implementation Department. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party organization and the government have been closely monitoring the visits of the ministers and their work. In the initial phase, the ministers did send these reports, but for the last six months, except Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Agarwal, no minister has submitted the report of their visits to the Chief Minister. Therefore, on August 2 this week, the Chief Minister himself has written a letter to each minister and reminded them of the report.
Deepak Gairola, Secretary of the Program Implementation Department, says that under the Uttarakhand government’s ‘Janta Ke Dwar Program’, ministers visit places so that the actual information about the schemes can be known on the ground. People’s problems can be resolved. He said that usually ministers submit a detailed report to the department, but we have not received this report since March. Except for one minister. The department has also sent reminders to the ministers at its level. Now the Chief Minister himself has started sending letters to the ministers in this regard.
Actually, in Uttarakhand, this issue has been raised about the ministers that the ministers have become ministers of their assembly. The ministers have become limited to their assembly or their supporters. It has been seen many times that whether it is forest fire or Chardham Yatra or a disaster like Kedarnath, in the end, the CM has to take charge on every front.
Minister Saurabh Bahuguna says that he regularly visits the districts under his charge and also sends its report to the concerned department. It is possible that it could not be submitted due to some technical reasons. I will find out about it
On the other hand, Minister Ganesh Joshi says that due to election code of conduct etc., the visits to the districts might have been affected, despite this I regularly visit the districts under my charge. Its report is also sent to the Chief Minister.
