China is annoyed
China’s news agency Xinhua has termed India as the ‘graveyard of foreign investment’. This disappointment of China is not just like that, but because of India’s semiconductors target, it seems to be very upset. China’s state media says India’s semiconductor ambitions should be viewed with suspicion because of discriminatory business practices. China’s state media argues that apart from the Chips and Science Act of America, the Micron deal is actually a strategy to control China. The deal was signed just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to America.
Told India a graveyard
China’s official media says that India’s leaders, diplomats and industrialists are currently busy imagining the fever of ‘chip war’. While they do not realize that the age-old problem of talent, infrastructure and rapidly changing technology ecosystem can prove to be detrimental to India’s vision. Shanghai-based Chinese website Guancha says that IBM, Samsung, Xiaomi and other companies were fined by India. The reason for punishing these companies was always tax related.
made fun of india
PM Modi recently inaugurated the second edition of SemiconIndia in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Along with this, an extraordinary 50 percent financial assistance has also been offered to companies for setting up semiconductor manufacturing facilities in India. In an article, Guancha accused India of exaggerating its ability to attract semiconductor companies and not delivering on its promises. In this, there is mention of the announcement of the year 2021 of the Modi government in which semiconductor subsidy was talked about.
India’s way is difficult
Chinese media says that despite the support of America, India’s path is difficult. According to him, the difficulties faced by India in the semiconductor ambition have not been explained in the right way. There is talk of converting India into a semiconductor base in two years and this time frame is very unrealistic.
