Rahul Gandhi is seen only in a plain white T-shirt. Why is that so? He also became famous for this during his Bharat Jodo Yatra. On June 19, on his birthday, Rahul Gandhi explained why he wears only this coloured T-shirt. Rahul Gandhi posted a video and said that he wears only white T-shirts because it reflects ‘transparency’ and ‘simplicity’.
Amid the protests and anger over the alleged paper leak, Rahul Gandhi is now taking advantage of the same as he has launched the White T-Shirt Campaign on his birthday. He has called upon his supporters to wear simple clothes under this campaign. Sources say that Rahul Gandhi has had the idea of the T-shirt campaign since last year but buoyed by the election results and hoping to capitalise on the NEET/NEET protests, the Congress leader feels that now is the time to launch it.
In a video posted on social media, Rahul Gandhi is seen saying that the white T-shirt symbolizes transparency, perseverance and simplicity for me. He asked people to send a video explaining the importance of these values in their lives using the hashtag #WhiteTshirtArmy. In his post, Rahul Gandhi said that those who send him a reply video will get a white T-shirt from him. These will be signed ‘RG’.
By the way, the timing of this campaign is special. There is a lot of anger among the youth regarding the alleged paper leak and irregularities, due to which the UGC-NET exam had to be canceled and there is a demand to cancel NEET-UG 2024. Congress is actually preparing the voters of the future. This gives an impression similar to the ‘Modi Shirt’ campaign on the NaMo app during PM Modi’s previous tenure.
My heartfelt thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes.
I am often asked why I always wear a ‘white T-shirt’ – this T-shirt symbolises transparency, solidity and simplicity for me.
