Along with proving to be the most expensive player in IPL history, Pat Cummins has also broken Sam Curran’s record. Earlier, Sam Curran had proved to be the most expensive player. Apart from Hyderabad Sunrisers, Royal Challengers Bangalore have also bid on Cummins, but in the end Sunrisers were successful in winning. The base price of Cummins was Rs 2 crore.
Although, Chennai had first bid on Cummins, but later after Rs 7 crore 60 lakh, Chennai backed out. It should be noted that it was under the captaincy of Pat Cummins that Australia had shattered Team India’s dream of winning the World Cup. Apart from this, Shardul Thakur and Rachin Ravindra have been included in Chennai Super Kings. Shardul was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023, but was later released by KKR. At the same time, now Chennai has included him in their fold by paying a price of Rs 4 crore.
