Wayanad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala on Wednesday. Communist Party of India (CPI)’s Annie Raja is contesting against Rahul Gandhi. Annie also filed her nomination on Wednesday. The contest has become interesting with the entry of Annie Raja, general secretary of CPI’s National Federation of Indian Women and wife of party general secretary D Raja, and Rahul Gandhi into the fray.
Rahul Gandhi gave information about his assets
During nomination, Rahul Gandhi and Annie Raja have given information about their assets in the affidavit. According to the affidavit, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has invested Rs 4.3 crore in the stock market. There is a mutual fund deposit of Rs 3.81 crore and Rs 26.25 lakh in the bank account. The affidavit shows that Rahul Gandhi has Rs 55000 in cash and total income of Rs 1 crore 27 lakh 8 thousand 680 during the financial year 2022-23.
Rahul’s wealth increased so much in 5 years
The affidavit shows that Rahul Gandhi’s movable assets have increased by 59 percent in five years. Rahul Gandhi’s movable assets in 2019 were Rs 5.8 crore while the latest affidavit shows movable assets of Rs 9.24 crore. The Congress leader also has gold bonds worth Rs 15.2 lakh. He has also invested Rs 61.52 lakh in national savings schemes, postal savings, insurance policies and other places. It was told that he also has liabilities of about Rs 49.7 lakh. Rahul Gandhi has also announced agricultural land he jointly owned with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi’s Mehrauli, as well as office space in Gurugram, worth Rs 11 crore.

Annie Raja’s net worth is around Rs 72 lakh (71,68,750). Annie Raja has only Rs 10,000 in cash. While the amount of Rs 62,000 is deposited in the bank. Along with this, jewelery worth Rs 25,000 and inherited property worth Rs 71 lakh has been declared.

In Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi is contesting against Annie Raja and Bharatiya Janata Party state president K Surendran. Rahul Gandhi had registered a landslide victory from Wayanad seat in 2019 by a margin of more than four lakh votes. According to the Election Commission notification, voting will be held in all 20 parliamentary constituencies of Kerala on April 26 in a phase one, for which the last date for filing nomination papers is April 4.
