Uttar Pradesh’s young and uncapped player Sameer Rizvi has taken a huge leap in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, with Chennai Super Kings spending Rs 8.40 crore on him. 20-year-old cricketer Sameer has been impressive in domestic cricket, which led to this crucial IPL bidding war. His base price was a modest Rs 20 lakh. Sameer, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, has so far participated in 2 first-class matches as well as 11 List-A and 11 T20 matches in his cricket career. His recent stellar performance in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League caught the attention of many people. Playing for Kanpur Superstars, Sameer scored a remarkable 455 runs in 10 matches at an average of 50.56 and a staggering strike rate of 188.8.
He emerged as the third-highest run-scorer in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League and played a key role in his team’s success. Sameer scored two centuries and an additional half-century during the tournament.
