Thiruvananthapuram: Students evacuated from Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine war on Friday presented the security deposit to Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, who is contesting from the Attingal Lok Sabha constituency. The students were evacuated safely from the war-torn country by the Central Government under ‘Operation Ganga’. To express their gratitude, a group of students decided to pay the bail amount for Muraleedharan.
A group of students evacuated from Ukraine met Mr Muraleedharan at the BJP state office in Thiruvananthapuram. Student Sai Shruti told ANI, ‘I was a student at Zaporizhia University in Ukraine. We were there during the Russia-Ukraine war. At that time, we were evacuated due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi ji and Minister V Muraleedharan.

Shruti further said, ‘We have come here as a token of our gratitude and respect to present this money as security deposit for his (V. Muraleedharan’s) election.’ Muraleedharan thanked the students for their respect.
The Minister of State for External Affairs said, ‘I am grateful to the parents and students evacuated by the Government of India during the conflict in Ukraine. In fact, during the last five years of PM Narendra Modi’s government, the campaign to rescue students from crisis was the most satisfying for me personally.

He further said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal is to ensure the safety of every Indian, wherever they are. His contacts with governments and leaders across the world facilitated these rescue operations. I would also like to thank the students and parents who were expelled from Ukraine for coming out in support of my candidacy in Attingal.
